Soldier from Kurunegala becomes Airtel Millionaire

Colombo March 09, 2012: Bharti Airtel, a leading integrated telecommunications company with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa, today announced a young soldier from Kurunegala as a winner of its recently launched Airtel Millionaire promotion. From participating in this exciting promotion - Keerthi Chamila Kumara Lansakkara, a 22 year old soldier from the sixth Vijayaba Infantry, has been declared the third of 5 lucky customers to have won Rs. 1 million. Keerthi will be investing this sum of money to build his own house.

Commenting on the occasion, Suren Goonewardene, CEO – Sri Lanka, Bharti Airtel said, “At Airtel Lanka, we are constantly looking for ways of exciting our customers with offers and promotions that delight. In continuation of this endeavor, we launched Airtel Millionaire as a unique way of acknowledging the loyalty of 5 lucky Airtel mobile customers in Sri Lanka – who were chosen by a lucky draw and awarded Rs. 1 million. We congratulate Keerthi Chamila Kumara Lansakkara as our third winner and hope that his winnings will contribute towards helping him fulfill his dreams”.

As part of the promotion, prepaid and postpaid Airtel mobile customers, upon topping up their account or paying a bill worth Rs. 100 or more were awarded a chance to participate in the millionaire lucky draw. Depending on the amount the customer pays, in multiples of 100, he/she would be entitled to multiple chances of eligibility. Two more lucky draws will be held on a fortnightly basis – randomly choosing an Airtel mobile customer from each draw and he/she will get the opportunity of a lifetime to win Rs 1 million overnight.
